Healthcare

Bringing Care with Compassion.

Healthcare is not just a service at Sri Pratyaksha Charitable Trust. It is a sacred expression of compassion. Inspired by the sacred vision of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swamigal, we strive to bring accessible and respectful medical care to those who need it most—especially the elderly, the underserved, and families from economically vulnerable backgrounds.

Our healthcare programs are guided by a singular dharmic vision: to heal with empathy, support with integrity, and serve with humility.

“Service done with compassion and humility is the highest expression of dharma.”

— Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swamigal

Urban Health Center

In 2021, amidst the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trust inaugurated the Sri Kanchi Matam Urban Health Centre (SKMUHC) in Tirupati. What began as a simple outpatient service has grown into a vital hub of multi-disciplinary healthcare, catering primarily to low-income communities who have little or no access to medical support. At this center, patients receive free consultations, medicines, and follow-up care, often from the same doctors who’ve come to be seen as trusted members of the local community. The facility offers services in general medicine, dental care, and ophthalmology, and has now expanded to include Ayurvedic treatments for those who prefer holistic healing.

What makes SKMUHC truly special is its commitment to care without conditions. No paperwork, no waiting lists—just compassionate attention and effective treatment. Patients requiring advanced procedures are referred to external hospitals with the Trust’s support, ensuring continuity of care even beyond the clinic’s walls.

Medical Camps: Reaching the Unreachable

Beyond city limits, where healthcare remains a distant reality for many, the Trust organizes regular medical camps that bring essential health services directly to people’s doorsteps.

These camps are held in villages, old-age homes (vruddhashrams), and at our own Pathashalas—reaching students, their families, and the elderly. From general health screenings to eye and dental check-ups, each camp is designed not just to treat, but to educate—raising awareness about nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care.

Every camp is anchored in personal care and follow-through. Medicines are distributed free of cost, and those diagnosed with more serious conditions are guided toward further treatment with the Trust’s help. These camps are often the only source of medical attention some participants have ever received.

Financial Assistance

For those facing major health challenges—whether a child needing surgery or an elder battling chronic illness—SPCT steps in with critical financial assistance to cover medical treatments, hospital stays, and long-term medications.

We work closely with hospitals like the Hindu Mission Hospital in Trichy, a charitable institution founded with the blessings of Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi on September 1985, to support life-saving dialysis treatments, surgical procedures, and other essential care. These partnerships allow us to extend our reach and respond quickly when families are in distress.

Whether it’s funding a cataract surgery, or arranging dialysis for a patient who cannot afford it, the Trust ensures that no one has to face illness alone or unprepared.

Healthcare at Sri Pratyaksha Charitable Trust is not about numbers—it is about people, presence, and purpose. It is about meeting someone where they are, in their moment of greatest need, and offering not just treatment—but reassurance, respect, and hope.

“To serve someone in pain is to serve the Divine within them.”
